                                                                                                                                                   What are our goals?

(1) To advocate for abstinence education and its role in the quality of life of adolescents.
(2)
To educate the community on the work of Esther Ministries and its impact in the state of South Carolina (more particularly Greenville County).
(3)
Increase community commitment and support for abstinence only education and abstinence promoting activities.

Why is it important?
It is being stated that it doesn’t work
It is the only method that is 100% effective
52% of SC high school students have had sex w/29% having sex before the 9th grade
Between 2004 – 2006 SC teen pregnancy rates increased by 8%.
In 2006, there were 938 pregnancies among girls aged 10 – 19 in Greenville County.

Sexual abstinence is the choice to refrain from sexual activity.  The choice of abstinence is a personal decision based on what you feel is right for you.  People abstain for different reasons, including religious, social, moral and health.  Esther Ministries believes wait until marriage and this choice should be respected.
